Born in Monterrey, N.L. in 1956, daughter of a visual artist, Marcela grew up surrounded by art and music, which helped stimulate her senses as well as her taste and development of art. She studied English Language and Literature at Monterrey Tech, with a master's degree in Educational Technology and another in Visual Arts at the University of Nuevo León.
She has been teaching at Tec de Monterrey for 30 years, teaching art subjects and tirelessly dedicating herself to cultural promotion and awareness and art education. Outside the Institution, she has taught Art diplomas to cultural promoters and teachers on various occasions, as well as painting and Mexican handicraft workshops.
As a visual artist, she has participated in +40 national and international group exhibitions and +10 solo exhibitions. Marcela has worked on projects on drawing, digital painting, installations, synthetic clay, ceramics and wood, her particular interest being to show the different facets in which the thought (emotions, sensations and ideas) of the interior of the human being with respect to nature can appear in various techniques and supports.
Among her main themes, she has a special interest in showing the beauty of creation that surrounds us, Nature with its diversity of elements such as flora and fauna.
